From StageAgent: Your Performing Arts Connection
The play tells the tale of Vladimir and Estragon, two vagabonds perpetually awaiting a meeting, which is destined not to be. The two men meet near a tree to wait for Godot. While they wait, Pozzo and his slave, Lucky, enter. Pozzo converses with the vagabonds and then Lucky entertains them with a dance. After Pozzo and Lucky leave, a boy enters with a message that Godot will not be coming until tomorrow. The next night, Vladimir and Estragon again meet near the tree to wait for Godot. Yet again Lucky and Pozzo arrive but now Pozzo is blind and Lucky is dumb. Pozzo does not even remember meeting the vagabonds the night before. Pozzo and Lucky leave and the boy returns. Once more he tells Vladimir that Godot will not be coming. After the boy goes away, Estragon and Vladimir decide to leave. However, by the time the curtain falls and the play ends, the two men have not moved.
